The journal has moved to a new publishing platform: Citeable. All issues and articles have come across intact and exactly as before — there’s nothing you need to do. If you come across anything that looks out of place, please let us know.
For the past seven years, EJLE has been published through Open Journal Systems (OJS). OJS served us well: it gave a re-launched journal a dependable home, somewhere to build an archive, establish a routine, and find our feet again as a publication. We’re grateful for what it allowed us to do. But as the journal has grown, so too have our ambitions for it, and we increasingly found ourselves adapting our needs to fit the platform rather than the other way around.
Moving to Citeable is the next stage in that growth. Rather than a general-purpose system we configure as best we can, Citeable is a bespoke platform built around what a modern academic journal actually needs – for readers, for authors, and for the editorial team behind the scenes. It lets us present the journal’s work the way we want it presented, and gives us room to keep developing as EJLE continues to mature.
For authors with work in progress, manuscripts already submitted through the old system will continue to be handled there through to completion, but their final published home will be here, on the new platform. All new submissions should be made through the new site.
We’re excited about what this move makes possible, and we hope you’ll find the new platform a better home for the journal’s scholarship. As ever, if anything looks amiss, we’d be glad to hear from you.
